| 2 militants killed in JK | | |

Two militants were killed in two different encounters at Kupwara and Anantnag, while two security personnel sustained injuries. Meanwhile a powerful explosion rocked Police Station Rainwari on Sunday evening.
The troopers of 18 RR, according to reports reaching here, laid a siege around Kakar Mohalla at Devar Lolab during which an identified LeT militant was killed in a fierce encounter with army personnel. Two army personnel were also injured during the fiercely fought gun battle.
Army personnel of 49 RR who had ambushed at Mehmoodabad Dooru Anantnag spotted movement of some militants and fired upon them. The heavy exchange of fire between the army personnel and militants resulted in the killing of a Hizb militant identified as Mohd Iqbal boda S/O Gh Hassan R/O Cheer Kreeri, but his other two accomplices managed to flee. A powerful explosion rocked Police Station Rainawari following which panic gripped the whole area. However no one was killed or injured in the explosion.
