Rs. 2.5 crore tube well at Rampura soon, says Bhalla | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 16: To meet the requirement of drinking water facilities in Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla disclosed that Government has prepared a plan of Rs. 2.5 crore for construction of tube well on proposed site at Vijay Park in Rampura adding that after commissioning the tube well, the drinking water supply in the area would be improved to a large extent.
Bhalla asked the Urban Environmental and Engineering Department to immediately remove the debris from the road side so that the slab work of local nallah sjould not suffer adding that government has earmarked Rs. 45 lakh for covering the 200 meter long nallah in the area.
He informed that after covering the nallah, the slab area would be developed as Recreation Park with modern attractions including illumination, seating and drinking water. He appealed the people not to dump debris in the lanes, drains besides open spaces adding that such practices are unhygienic and turn into nuisance for the public.
Listing the measures taken by the Government to upgrade the living standard of the Rampura and Nai Basti inhabitants, the minister said Government has earmarked Rs. 70 lakh for developing Vijay Park in Rampura and 200 meter available space on the edge of Nai Basti nallah as recreational park.
He said the parks would be developed on modern lines by providing illumination, seating, drinking water and landscaping facilities. He asked the executing agency to complete the ongoing works of the parks within stipulated time frame. He asked the people not to encroach open spaces in their localities adding the places are totally meant for construction of public properties.
For facilitating the people of Shastri Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Gandhi Nagar and its adjoining areas, Bhalla informed that Government has earmarked Rs. 4.70 crore for construction of parking slot near cremation ground Shastri Nagar by covering the Landoi Choi nallah adding that after dedication of parking slot to the people, the traffic congestion of the Shastri Nagar-Sanjay Nagar would be solved to a large extent.
To improve the power scenario in Shastri Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Rampura and Parts of Nai Basti, the Minister said the work on 10 MVA 33/11 KV Receiving Station at Shastri Nagar is under progress on war footing adding that the project costing Rs. 3.26 crore would be completed by August this year. He said after the commissioning of the receiving station, the power supply would witness great improvement.
Responding to the demand of Hajipura Nai Basti residents, Bhalla announced Rs.7.60 lakh for upgradation of lanes and drains with grating facilities.
On the occasion, various deputations and individuals apprised the Minister about the developmental demands of their respective areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said Central and State Governments have launched number of welfare schemes for uptlifting the socio-economic condition of the unemployed youth of the State.
