ling the board for curtailing Shri Amarnath Yatra period by 15 days, the Samiti has said that the date of commencement and culmination of religious Yatra should be left with the Hindu religious organizations and the Hindu saints.
The SASB and the government should only provide necessary facilities for the smooth conduct of the same.
A meeting of the Samiti was held under the chairmanship of its president Mahant Sangrandh Giri and attended by Mahant Ramesh Giri senior Vice President, working president Mahant Subash Shah, Mahant Dutt Suri, Mahant Shanti Giri, Mahant Inder Dass Geneneral Secretary, Mahant Bhola Dass and Ravindra Nand, Swami Divaganad , Mahant Chandarmani, Mahant Digambar Dass , Mahant Arun Giri , Dr. Vidhaya Nand, Mahant Surindar Dass , Mahant Mahesh Das , Mahant Sharan Giri and many others, pledged full support and participation of Sadhu Samaj in any agitation launched for restoration of two month long Amarnath Yatra, commencing from June 15.
Through a resolution adopted unanimously, the Samiti flayed the disruptive activities of some Mahants, who have been in the past removed from their posts by a majority vote, for their misconduct and financial irregularities.
The Samiti also appealed to the SASB to take effective measures to preserve snow Shiv lingam for a longer period.
