| Buyer-Seller meet forges long term business relations: Vohra | | Kashmir Expo-2011 | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 16: Buyer-Seller Meets provide an excellent opportunity for buyers and sellers from various parts of the country and abroad to evolve mutually beneficial understandings and forge long term trade and business relations. Governor, N. N. Vohra was interacting with participants of 3-day 3rd International Buyer-Seller meet titled “Kashmir Expo-2011” here last evening. This meet has been organized by Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Bank and sponsored by Union Ministry of Commerce, from May 14 to May 17. Governor welcomed every person who has come to participate in this Buyer-Seller Meet. “You have met our people in Kashmir and seen our various products. I am certain that you will come again and again and establish sustained business relations with our producers in the coming times”, the Governor told the buyers from within the country and abroad, who are participating in this Meet in a good number. He added that Kashmir is known the world over for its high quality carpets, brass and copper work, papier machie, Pashmina shawls, walnut wood carving, embroidery and various other handicrafts products. He hoped that the Buyer-Seller Meet would not only promote on spot sale of world famous handicraft items and other products of the State but evolve futuristic trade and business relations. Advisor to Chief Minister, Mubarak Gul was present on the occasion. Earlier, the President, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nazir A. Dar, in his welcome address said that handicrafts, tourism and horticulture are the mainstay of the State’s economy and promotion of these sectors will largely contribute towards the objective of securing prosperity of the artisans, craftsmen, those associated with the travel trade and above all the common people. He said that we are sure that the support of the Central and the State Government as well as other agencies will result in progressive flow of more resources in the goods and services sectors. He thanked the Governor for gracing the occasion and interacting with the participants of the Meet. Functionaries of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, its former Presidents, buyers and sellers, representatives of Union Ministry of Commerce and senior executives of the J&K Bank were among those present on the occasion.
