| HC upholds SKUAST librarian termination | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 16: High court judge, Justice Sunil Hali today upheld
the SKUAST vice-chancellor decision in which he discharged the
petitioner on December 10, 2010, from the post of librarian.
Dr V Sreenvashulu was on March 2, 2009, put on probation as a
librarian for two years. He was disengaged as his work and conduct
was found poor and unsatisfactory.
The petitioner then challenged the order in the high court.
Justice Hali observed that the VC had the power to take any action
in an emergency which in his opinion called for immediate action
and in such cases he was required to report his action to the
university's Board of Management for rectification.
It was by the university that the case would be referred to the
university's Board of Management.Keeping in view all these facts,
Justice Hali dismissed this petition at the stage of admission.
