Students protest cancellation of BA/B Sc/B Com part-II exam | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 16: The students of BA/BSc/B.Com-II today held a massive protest demonstration against the Jammu University authorities for the cancellation of the paper of EVS of Part II without any satisfactory reason under the banner of National Panthers Students Union (NPSU). The protest was led by Dalbir (Sr. Leader of NPSU). They tried to enter the examination block of the University of Jammu but were not permitted to enter and even not allowed to meet the Controller of the Examinations. Speaking on the occasion Dalbir said that the examination of BA/BSc/ B.Com Part II that was conducted on March 24 and it is now re-conducted after a gap of more than two months which has infuriated the students and left them perplexed. The exam is now scheduled to be re-conducted on May 31 after a long gap of more than two months. The date of re-conduct of examination was notified on May 14. He said that the students are confused as they don’t even have inkling that their exam will be re-conducted. A group of students from various colleges gathered in Jammu University to meet Controller of Education but they were denied the meeting by guards. Waiting for two hours in hot summers when the students were not allowed to meet the Comptroller of Examinations, they raised slogans against the concerned authorities. Prof Deepankar Sen Gupta came forward to listen to the agitating students but could not give even a single satisfactory reply. He gave multiple reasons with no proper grounds for the re-conduct of the examination. “Prof Deepankar Gupta apprised the agitating students that there is some internal problem in office, there is problem in coding of Answer scripts sheets”, Dalbir Singh said.
