CA&PD team challans 14 shopkeepers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 16- The Consumers Affairs & Public Distribution (CA&PD) department today conducted surprise market checking in various parts of the city and challaned violators. A team of CA&PD led by Assistant Director (Enforcement), Mohd Iqbal challaned about fourteen shopkeepers for various violations. The team conducted surprise market checking in Gandhi Nagar and Bakshi Nagar localities and challaned 14 shops including fruit, vegetable sellers, besides Dhabas (food points) owners and other establishments selling essential commodities for not displaying rate lists at their establishments. The team also inspected Gulmohar Gas Agency on the complaints that the agency was not providing home delivery of the cylinders to the consumers. The team checked the records and directed the Gas Agency management to report to Director, CA&PD Jammu along with complete record on May 18. The shopkeepers were asked to ensure display of uniform rate list and desist from charging exorbitant rates from the customers.
