Smelling a rate in the proposes leasing of land to outsiders in Jammu & Kashmir state, Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani here on Monday alleged that a deep rooted conspiracy is being hatched to change the demographic character of the trouble state. Reiterating that people have been already asked to observe a completed shut down across the state against the leasing of land, Geelani while addressing a seminar on the subject "Jammu & Kashmir on sale" held in Srinagar said a deep rooted conspiracy to establish colonies of people from outside the state is being hatched to bring down the proportion of the coummnity which has got a majority status in the state. Alleging that people holding reign of power are supporting the proposal just to strengthen occupation of India over the state, geelani said in a very sorry state of affairs our own people vote for these people who strengthening the chains of slavery in which the suppressed youth of the state are already caught.
Making an indirect reference to Chief minister's war on land mafia, Geelani said let the people crying a war against land mafia evict the auqaf land grabbed by vested interests in Jammu. He also sought an explanation for the illegal grabbing of auqaf land in Jammu.Alleging that politicians use land and assets of auqaf for electioneering in Kashmir, Geelani demanded eviction of illegally grabbed auqaf land in Kashmir also.
