Coordinated efforts for mitigating problems of people: DyCM | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 16: In order to review preparedness of various departments for the summer season as well as upcoming Amarnath Yatra, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today chaired a high level provincial meeting of all the major departments. Marathon meeting was called by the Deputy Chief Minister on the maiden day of Summer Secretariat, here today. Tara Chand said in order to address the problems being faced by the people of the province the government has established summer secretariat, adding that every week a Minister would be available to listen to the grievances of the public, thus bringing government more closely to people. Describing the ensuing summer as peak season, the Deputy Chief Minister said in the season the demand for water, power, ration and other services is at peak and the departments need to be geared up so as to come up to the expectations of the general public. He said need of the hour is to augment the resources as well as to make sure that present assets are utilized to their maximum capacity. Underlining the need for a coordinated approach, Tara Chand said that the government is committed to provide basic facilities to people and all out efforts have been launched to address their grievances. He enjoined upon PHE, PDD, PWD and other line departments to work in close coordination and make sure that people do not suffer due to inter-departmental delays. Deputy Chief Minister told concerned authorities for proper maintenance and upkeep of the facilities which have been developed by different agencies. Among others the meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma, Director Local Bodies, Jammu F. C. Bhagat, Director, CA&PD, Parvez A Malik, Chief Engineers PHE, PWD,PDD, Vice- Chairman, JDA, Director ERA, SSP Jammu, Senior officers of NBCC,ERA and other concerned departments.
