| Over unfavourable result, staff locked inside polling station | | | BANIHAL, May 16: After the declaration of result, the losing side protested and locked the election staff, including returning officer and some cops, inside a polling station at Kumait in Rajgarh area of Ramban today.
The panchayat election staff was held hostage at Kumait by the group, which opposed the result, official sources said.There was also a clash between the two groups after the declaration of the result, the sources added. Additional cops had been despatched to the village from Chanderkote when reports last came in.
