In view of Geelani declaring Osama as martyr Pandits still fear worst on return to Valley | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 16: Expressing apprehensions on their return to Valley at this juncture, Kashmiri Pandits have made it clear that the community can’t live together with Muslim majority of Valley which has since rejected the co-existence.
Making their apprehensions known to visiting European Union diplomats a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits made it known to them that the Pandits fear worst on their return to Valley in view of the close proximity of radical islamists in Valley with Talibans. ``We fear worst on our return to Valley where the radicals still rule the roost and situation has not changed for a better for us’’, Veer Saraf one of the members of the KP delegation told he diplomats.
Saraf informed the visiting diplomats that how the displaced people can consider themselves to remain secure in Valley where recently Geelani protested the killing of Osamabin laden the mastermind of world terrorism. What will be the fate of me and my community in Valley where people protest against the killing of Osama who was on a mission to destroy the non Muslims all over the world, he added.
This is a serious issue and the forces who are talking about the return of the community to their homes and hearths should first pay attention to these basic points, he said, adding Geelani describes osama a martyr for Islam and in the event of people coming to streets to protest against the terrorist like osama any where in world create further insecurity for the minuscule minority in Valley on their return.
This is a basic problem that the community is expressing apprehensions on its return to Kashmir, Saraf informed the delegation while justifying the one place settlement of community within Kashmir.
He also informed the diplomats that the whereabouts of a KP youth who rejoiced on the victory of Indian cricket team over Pakistan in World Cup semifinal are not known till date and the Government has also failed to trace the youth in last over one and half month. This has further increased the apprehensions of displaced Pandits about their security in Valley, he added.
Saraf said the Pandits being the peace loving people have believe in co-existence and brotherhood but it was the majority community in Kashmir who failed to preserve this legacy of Kashmir and remained a mute spectator to vandalism and mass killings of members of minority community by terrorists and their sympathizers in Kashmir.
Saraf also did not absolve the Government of India and successive state governments for their apathy towards the Kashmiri Pandits and instead they were interested in separatists appeasement policies over the years.
He alleged that the Pandits were deprived of political reservations being in minority. Besides the Government has failed to implement the PM’s employment package in letter and spirit as out of 6000 jobs announced by DrManmohan Sing only 2000 jobs were advertised for recruitment.
Expressing his concern over the delay in passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill Saraf said that Government was deliberately not interested in enactment of law for passage of minority shrines and temples in Valley who have suffered a huge damage during last over 21 years of turmoil.
