| State Congress leader again rakes up rotational CM issue | | | Srinagar, May 16 (KNS): Though the Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad led faction of state Congress has been downplaying the demand of rotational Chief Minister in Jammu and Kashmir, leaders of the other faction led by PCC president, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz have been constantly raking up the issue. Latest to join the bandwagon is senior Congress leader and prominent Supreme Court lawyer, Ashok Bhan. Addressing party workers here on Monday Bhan said that state Congress leaders were striving hard with high command in New Delhi that about the rotational CM issue. “It is coalition politics. Ultimate decision lies with Congress Working Committee and Sonia (Gandhi) Jee. However, you people should feel happy that we are striving hard with the high command for taking front seat in the government after three years (January 2012),” Bhan told workers “High Command has not foreclosed the issue,” he added. National Conference’s Omar Abdullah has been leading the coalition government since January 2009. Although the existing arrangement was originally modeled upon the pattern of Congress-PDP coalition (2002-2008) it was generally perceived that Omar would be retained to steer it for the entire six-year term till 2014. However, voices have started emerging from the state Congress unit from time to time for change in guard after three years.
