Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 17: Joint action committee of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Employees Associations (NVSEA) has reiterated demand for implementation of GPF-cum-Pension Scheme 1972 for its employees who were in service before January 1, 2004.
According to a handout issued here today, it has been stated that a meeting of the Joint Action Committee of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Employees Associations was held wherein delegates from the different JNVs located in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and Chandigarh participated.
They have further said that despite repeated assurances to remove the discrimination, nothing concrete has been done towards implementation of this scheme. Employees felt that they have been befooled for the last one and half years by the Management of NVS as well as the Ministry of HRD who assured that favourable action will be taken soon when last all the employees of NVS had gone on one day token strike and later on decided to proceed on indefinite strike.
Employees felt that the Secretary Education in Ministry of HRD Anshu Vaid, IAS did not keep her words which she gave in writing when an MOU was signed by the Joint Secretary (SE) Min. of HRD and the leaders of Joint Action Committee. They felt that they have been cheated and now they are left with no other alternative but to resort to the rebellion attitude leaving aside the Gandhian Ways and means.
In its meeting, Joint Action Committee decided to go ahead with different activities from different platforms. To start with gate rallies will be held in all JNVs, a chain Hunger Strike will be started in front of the Commissioner’s Office, a rally will be held at Janter Manter and ultimately all the employees will proceed on Pen down strike.
They said that detailed programme will be chalked out by the executives of Joint Action Committee and circulated to all the JNVs for initiating stern action against the Management of NVS, Ministry of HRD and Govt of India. Support and help of other trade unions and different associations will be taken to strengthen the Movement.
