J&K launches mega projects for speeding up development: DyCM | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 17: Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said that with active support from the Central government mega development projects have been launched in the state for all round development of all the three regions of the state. He said work on the road map to make the state a model state is underway and these infrastructure projects would go a long way in meeting the development aspirations of the people of the state. Tara Chand was addressing an emergent meeting called today under his chairmanship to make the visit of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi in Basohli, a grand success. She would inaugurate a bridge on 23rd of May. While appreciating the timely completion of Basohli Bridge, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the development was main agenda of former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and the said bridge is one among them. A number of other developmental works in other parts of the state have been taken for completion by the present coalition government led by Omar Abdullah, he added. Among others the meeting was participated by Suman Bhagat, Gharu Ram, Dr. Romesh Chander Sharma, Yogesh Sawhney, Narinder Singh Jamwal and Ch. Manmohan Singh, Ex. MLA- Prem Kumar. Vinod Sharma, Hans Raj Bhagat, Vinod Mishra (all General Secretaries PCC), Narinder Sharma, Anil Chopra, Maheshwar Singh, Ashok Sharma, Darshan Raina, B. S. Slathia, Parvinder Singh Pammi, Chaman Lal Bhagat, Namrata Sharma, Lalita Sharma, Balwinder Singh Sambyal (Chairman, Pradesh Congress Sewa Dal), Sham Lal, Karamat Malik, Thomas Khokhar, Jugal Kishore, Subash Bhagar, Vinod Sharma, Naveen Nischal and Chander Mohan Sharma. Deputy Chief Minister congratulated the people of the state for participating in ongoing Panchayati Elections. He asked the party leaders to prepare themselves for forthcoming urban local body elections. He again appealed the party workers and leaders from Jammu province to participate in inaugural function at Basohli in large number. Leaders presented in the meeting congratulated Congress President Sonia Gandhi for landslide victory in Assam, West Bengal and Kerala.
