| Pranav Shagotra new vice-president of ITUC-AP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu: May 17: Pranav Shagotra, Jammu and Kashmir youth INTUC president and vice president of national youth INTUC has been elected as vice president of International Trade Union Confederation-Asia Pacific (ITUC-AP) youth committee for a term of four years.
ITUC-AP consists of 5 regions such as, East Asia, South East Asia, Middle East, Pacific and South Asia. There were eight contestants for the post of two vice presidents in which Pranav Shagotra has won the election.
The office bearers of ITUC-Asia Pacific Youth Committee are automatically co-opted as ITUC youth committee. The ITUC Asia Pacific Youth Committee during their tenure would discuss on unemployment, child labour, decent work, decent wage, climate change, economic issues etc.
Shagotra is a sincere, Dedicated worker amongst the working class and particular in daily rated, unorganized and agricultural workers. His struggle for better wages of daily rated workers of J&K was well noted.
Shagotra represented INTUC to the 2nd regional conference of ITUC-AP which was held at Singapore recently, where the elections held.
Through the platform of INTUC Pranav Shagotra could reach the position of vice chair of the office of ITUC-AP youth committee.
