Khoda lauds police role in combating terrorism in J&K
Police-public durbar held at Reasi

REASI, May 17: The Director General of Police, (DGP) Kuldeep Khoda has lauded the role of Udhampur-Reasi Police Range for Crime detection in the area. He said that conviction rate achieved by the Police has been highest in the country.
DGP was speaking at the Police Durbar held at District Police Lines hear today. He said that the primary role of Police is to curb the activities of criminals and bring them to justice. He said that the district police besides other professional duties have brought laurels to the organization for bringing the criminals to justice after pursuing their cases to their logical end. He asked the jawans and officers to remain vigilant and ensure safety of the people from the activities of these criminals.
To achieve desired results, public cooperation is mandatory and the police have taken all along the people while dealing the criminals, said the DGP. Khoda appreciated Jawans and Officers for their role in fighting the terrorism and avoiding the loss to the lives and property of the people. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police will continue its efforts to eradicate menace of terrorism and bring lasting peace in every corner of the State.
During the Darbar, the DGP heard the jawans and officers and assured that their genuine grievances would be redressed on merit basis. He said that organization is having the welfare programme for jawans which is on top of its agenda and many decisions have been taken in the recent welfare meetings to benefit the personnel. He issued the instructions on the spot to the officers present in the durbar to remain in close touch with the jawans and heard their problems on daily roll calls for early address.
Absorption of SPOs as constable in the Department was also announced by the DGP on the spot purely on merit basis. On this occasion, Khoda distributed cash rewards among the jawans who had exhibited exemplary morale and done commendable job while taking part in the anti-militancy operations and assured the safety of human lives and public property in their jurisdictions.
Later, the DGP chaired a high level meeting of police officers and took stock of security, law and order situation in the border range. He said the Jammu and Kashmir Police in coordination with other securities agencies have to remain vigilant to foil nefarious designs of militants and their mentors.
Among other the Durbar/meeting was attended by Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Dilbagh Singh, DIG Udhampur- Reasi Range, Jagdish Kumar SSP Udhampur, Surinder Gupta, SSP Reasi, Keshav Chorasia, Commandant 12th Bn JKAP, Manmohan Singh, Addl S.P Katra, Anita Sharma and other Police Officers of the range.
