| NSS volunteers bring laurels to Jammu University | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 17: A contingent of ten NSS volunteers from University of Jammu returned back after attending National Integration Camp organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with Punjabi University, Patiala at Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib Punjab from 9-15 May, 2011. Volunteers were received by Prof. Jasbir Singh, Programme Coordinator, NSS, and University of Jammu. These volunteers won prizes in various competitions held during the camp. Prof. Jasbir Singh congratulated the winners. Volunteers were happy and learnt many new things in the camp. They thanked Prof. Varun Sahni, Vice-Chancellor, and University of Jammu for giving them an opportunity to interact with the students from other part of the country. Volunteers disclosed that the NIC was an enriching experience for them to know about the youth of other states. This has broadened their vision and thinking about the country. Imshan Ahmed and Abdul Qayoom won first Prize in Quiz competition, Shiv Dutt and Abdul Qayoom won second prize in Folk Songs and Poster Making respectively, while Mohammed Arif and Ashima Rajput won prizes in Dogri costume and Abdul Qayoom and Priya Bakshi won special prizes in Kashmiri costume.
