Communication gap between Indian, Kashmiri Muslims: Siddiqui | | | Srinagar, May 18 (KNS): The General Secretary of Rashtriya Lok Dal and member of Parliament Committee, Shahid Siddiqui, Wednesday said that Kashmiris have offered lots of sacrifices and “we don’t want those sacrifices should go waste.” In an exclusive interview with KNS Siddiqui said, “Indian Muslim has same feelings for Kashmiri Muslim victim as he has for a Gujrati Muslim victim. Kashmiris have given lots of sacrifices and we don’t want they should go waste. Kashmiri leadership must take one stand which will be acceptable to all the parties involved in the dispute in today’s perspective.” He said there was communication gap between Kashmir and Indian Muslims. “There should be stronger communication between Kashmir leadership and Indian Muslims. Indian Muslims have a bigger role in Indian democratic setup and they can play a big role in the resolution of Kashmir issue,” he added. “Due to the communication gap between Kashmiri Muslim and Indian Muslim, the Kashmir issue has remained unresolved. Kashmiris have given sacrifices, but it is duty of leadership now to guide them,” Siddiqui told KNS. He invited Kashmir leadership to join the dialogue process for the resolution of Kashmir issue. “For the honorable solution of the Kashmir dispute, all the political parties of the state should come forward.” Urging New Delhi to implement the recommendations of interlocutors at the earliest, he said, “Their (interlocutors) credibility is at stake. Interlocutors’ recommendations should be implemented so that change at the ground level is felt by common man. Those who have been arrested in last year’s unrest should be released immediately.” Shahid Siddiqui was in Kashmir to attend two day ‘peace conference’.
