CSSS launches peace development programme | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 18: The Catholic Social Service Society (CSSS) and Caritas Indian launched Peace Development Programme here today at Maitri Bhawan, Barjani Talab, Ismailpur, Jammu. On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Samba Anil Gupta, was the chief guest and Rt. Rev. Dr. Peter Celestine, OFM, Cap, the Bishop of Jammu-Srinagar, was the Guest of Honour. Fr. Frederick D’Souza, Assistant Executive Director, Caritas India was the Special Guest. During the inaugural address ADC Anil Gupta appreciated CSSS for its love and concern to the needy and marginalized. He wished all success to the new venture of CSSS. Rt. Rev. Dr. Peter Celestine, the bishop of Jammu-Srinagar diocese, appreciated the good work and encouraged the movement to march forward to create a better nation. Fr. Frederick D’Souza spoke about the importance of launching of Peace Development Programme. It is a new initiative of the Catholic Social Service Society (CSSS) and Caritas Indian to bring harmony among the communities. We need Peace in our Country especially in our state, said Fr. Justin, Director, CSSS. At this occasion Fr. Frederick D’Souza raised the peace flag and the Peace Brochure was published by Rt. Rev. Dr. Peter Celestine, OFM, Cap, the Bishop of Jammu-Srinagar. The programme started with a prayer dance by the students of Presentation Convent School, Gandhinagar and followed by many other cultural programmes based on the importance of Peace and Harmony. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Fr. Justin, Director, CSSS.
