Focus on improvement of public delivery service: Omar | CM holds ‘Public Mulakat’ | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, May 18: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Wednesday met dozens of deputations and scores of individuals at his Private Officer here at a ‘Public Mulakat’. In about six hour’s unabated public interaction, the Chief Minister heard the problems narrated by deputations and individuals turn by turn. He received feedbacks of the development schemes and pace of progress on works. Replying the questions, in between the meetings of deputations, by a national news agency covering the interaction session, the Chief Minister said that his focus is on improving public delivery service by receiving first hand appraisal of the issues people are confronted with on various counts. “Public Mulakats provide ample room to people to ventilate their grievances and I get an opportunity to know where the delivery requires improvement so that actions are taken accordingly”, he added. In reply to another question, the Chief Minister said that cent percent representations and requests made in these public interaction meetings are being examined and urgent action taken to address the genuine demands and grievances. “Every single paper received here is examined and follow up action taken on the valid grievances for redressal”, he said. The Chief Minister said that by the establishment of Panchayat Raj system in the State smaller individual issues which are being brought to his notice for redressal could be dealt effectively at the Panchayat level. During the Mulakat about 50 deputations met the Chief Minister and brought to his notice various issues of their concern. Omar Abdullah passed on-spot directions on various issues while many more were referred to the concerned senior officers for early examination and prompt action. Talking to various deputations of youth, the Chief Minister said that Government has flagged unemployment crisis as one of the most important concerns. “While jobs in the Government sector, whatever possible, are being created, private investment and MSME sector is being encouraged in the State”, he said expressing the hope that the peace and tranquility will enhance the job orbit for the youth as a whole. The Advisors to the Chief Minster, Mubarak Gul and Devender Singh Rana were also present during the Public Mulakat.
