Focus on moral values for balanced personality development: Guv | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, May 18: The Governor, N N Vohra, has emphasized the need for imparting ethical and moral values to the youths alongside the courses taught to them, at various levels of the education system, for ensuring that they develop healthy and wholesome personalities. The Governor was interacting with a delegation of Brahma Kumaris who called on him at Raj Bhavan here today. The 7-member delegation was led by Brahma Kumari Mruthyunjaya, Executive Secretary, Brahma Kumaris, Mount Abu, Rajasthan. The Governor suggested that it would be beneficial if all education and training institutions organize periodic lectures on ethical and moral values and an appropriate percentage of the overall marks assigned to this segment of learning. He also stressed the need for propagation of Gandhian values of communal harmony, peace and brotherhood, describing these as the crying need of the hour to establish more harmonious societies. Briefing the Governor about the activities of the Brahma Kumaris, the delegation stated that Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, World Headquarters, Mount Abu, is running a Post-Graduate Diploma and Masters Degree Course on Value Education and Spirituality through distant education mode and offered to help Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University in organizing lectures in value education and spirituality for the benefit of its students. The Governor, who is the Chancellor of the SMVDU, said that he would urge the Vice Chancellor of the University to hold discussions with them to assess the possibility of putting in place an appropriate collaboration.
