Apple Kids take students to Museum | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 18: On International Museum Day, the Apple Kids International Pre-School at Bantalab here took its students close to the history through a visit to Dogra Art Museum, Mubarak Mandi, here today. About 53 young students were taken to the museum, where they (children) viewed rare pictures and objects of historic importance and vintage artifacts. “The motto behind today’s outing was to increase awareness among the future generation about the role museums, preserving expressions of natural and cultural heritage in the society,” informed Principal of the School, Pooja Sharma. Students were briefed by the experts in the museum about different sections and their importance. The curious young students inquired about different articles on displayed and every query was replied in a polite and easy to understand language by the staff concerned. Assistant Museum Officer, Som Nath Verma and Assistant Conservation Officer, Kirpal Singh briefed the students about the importance of museum. They said, “Museums are an integral part of society and their diversity serves to convey their cultural, educational and social messages to their public audiences.” Moreover, the International Museum Day is a festival dedicated to the celebration of art, science and history museums all over the world, they added.
