| Thanamandi residents allege ration carriage scam | | |

Residents of Larota area of block Thanamandi have lodged their protest in the office of Assistant Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department demanding appointment of ration dealer in their area. They also demanded probe in the carriage charges being given to dealers alleging that the carriage has been absorbed by some officials after disbursing it on papers.
Sources said that various residents of Larota village of Thanamandi tehsil protested in the office of AD, CAPD department Rajouri. They alleged that their ration have been shifted from their village to another village Upper Doodasan bala which is 2 kilometer from their village. They said that ration of 332 people have been shifted in that village. They said that the village has already having 400 rationee and the dealer dealing that village could not supply ration to these villagers. They said that their ration dealer had contested election and his dealership was cancelled by the department which has landed them in lurch. “We demand to restore dealership of our ration dealer so that we get ration in our village”, a protestor said.
Meanwhile the residents also alleged that there is big scam in the carriage charges being given to ration dealers in the area. They said that carriage has been shown disbursed on the papers by the Tehsil Supply Officer but no such carriage has received by the dealers. “We demand that where the carriage has been gone”, they said demanding probe in it.
The AD has assured them proper action in this regard; He assured that he will also constitute a committee to probe in the carriage allegations.
