5/19/2011 12:05:00 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 18:

In view of the visit of the Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Union Defence Minister AK Antony to lay foundation stone of the bridge in Basholi on May 23 a multi-tier security grid would be established to sanitise the entire area and prevent any militant strike. All this would be done apart from the separate security drill carried out in routine by the SPG sleuth ahead of the visit of the VVIPs to any venue.
The area around the venue of the foundation laying ceremony is also getting decked up in advance to welcome the elite leadership of the country.

Falling along the same axis of the International border with Pakistan the security forces are also exercising extra caution and maintaining tight vigil on the movement of the suspected people in the area.
Several other prominent VIPs including state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and two other union cabinet ministers Dr Farooq Abdullah and Ghulam Nabi Azad, parliamentarians and state cabinet ministers and other leaders would be reaching the venue to attend the function.
Keeping in mind the heavy movement of vehicles the security forces have divided the entire area in to different zones to ensure smooth flow of movement of vehicles up to designated parking slots.
The organisers of the event are also exercising extra caution to screen the presence of media persons at the venue and have made it clear only those who possess PIB accreditation would be entertained and issued security passes to cover the event.
Ahead of the d-day all the road links leading to the venue would be sealed in advance and movement of local people would be diverted from interior roads to ensure safety of the national leaders falling under z plus category.
Official sources maintained that after the recent car bomb blast along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway the security establishment is not taking any chances and sticking to the rule book and following security manual strictly to ensure peaceful passage of the major event.
