DCM reviews foundation laying arrangements of Ravi bridge | | |  EALY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, MAY 18: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand visited Basohli and inspected the proposed Ravi bridge site today. Here, the foundation stone of 592 meters long cable stayed bridge will be laid by the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. This bridge will serve as a link between Basohli area of J&K and Dunera of Punjab thereby providing an alternate road connectivity between the two states. Tara Chand issued instructions to BRO authorities to do the needful. He also reviewed the various facilities provided at the site for the function and issued instructions to the concerned authorities for providing essential services at the site. Later, the Deputy Chief Minister also convened a workers meeting at Kathua. While addressing the gathering, Tara Chand said that the coalition government has started numerous development schemes in the state, adding that these mega infrastructure projects would go a long way in meeting the infrastructure demands of the people of state. He thanked Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Chairperson, UPA Madam Sonia Gandhi for unprecedented support to the state government. He said central government has been liberal in funding the development projects in state and people of the state are extremely thankful to the central government. Calling upon people to make the event a grand success, Tara Chand said described the bridge a prestigious project of state which would be an extra link between two states. The Deputy Chief Minister was accompanied by Member Parliament, Doda- Udhampur Parliamentary constituency, Lal Singh, Director GREF Umesh Chander, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal, DDC Kathua Zahida Khan, DIG Jammu Kathua range Farooq Khan, SSP Kathua J.L. Sharma.
