CS advises govt agencies on recruitment | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 19: Chief Secretary Madhav Lal today impressed upon the recruiting agencies to introduce written tests for screening of candidates and also consideration of qualification from recognized universities only for determining eligibility. Chairing a high level meeting of officers on recruitment and eligibility of candidates, Chief Secretary asked for introducing objective type tests as part of recruitment process followed by short listing and interviews. Meeting decided to consider degrees only from UGC affiliated universities eligible for government jobs and not the ones from scores of spurious distance mode learning centers except Indira Gandhi National Open University, Maulana Azad National Urdu University and DOEAC. Aim is to check the growth of illegal and unrecognized distance mode educational institutions which are alluring a large number of students. Chief Secretary asked for bringing in an SRO details of eligibility qualification in this regard. Meeting was attended, among others, by Commissioner/Secretary School Education Naseema Lankar, Commissioner/Secretary, Higher Education Tanveer Jehan, Commissioner/Secretary, GAD Mohammed Sayeed Khan, Chairman, SSRB Bua Ditta Bhagat, Secretary Law G. H. Tantray, Secretary PSC, Ashraf Bukhari and other officers.
