| S. P. College holds cycle race, Omar Maqbool wins | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, May 19: Shri Partap College organized its Annual College Cycle Race (boys) from Kashmir University to Harwan Garden today.
Event was flagged off by the College Principal, Prof. Zahoor Ahmad Chasti. Omar Maqbool of B.Sc. 2nd Year took the lead right from the beginning and reached the destination in just 23 minutes while Amanullah of B.Sc. 3rd year completed the race in 28 minutes and Gowhar Nabi of B.Sc. 2nd Year in 29 minutes and 35 seconds.
The prize distribution function was held at the Harwan Garden in which the college Principal distributed the prizes among the winners. In his address he highlighted the importance of Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and impressed upon the students to show physical as well as mental balance in the event of cycle racing.
He emphasized the students to take active part in the sports events being organized in and outside the college. Omar Maqbool is already a winner in Inter College Road Race and finished 2nd in Inter College Road Race conducted by the University of Kashmir.
