| Slathia for improving economic conditions of artisans | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, May 19: Minister for Industries S.S. Slathia today visited UNDP, utilization Project Nowshera, here and took stock of activities being carried out there.
Minister inspected the training centre in the premises where necessary training is being imparted to the artisans. He impressed upon the workers to work hard to achieve the basic
objectives of the project established in 1978.
Slathia said the main objective of improving the economic conditions of the weaver community can be achieved by providing modern techniques in weaving, designing, dyeing furnishing, scouring finishing, weaving, Designing, Carding, Spinning, testing and other allied trades. Director Handloom Development Department Chandra Gupta and other senior officers accompanied the Minister during the visit.
