Recommendations regarding new administrative units by June: Bhalla | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 19: Minister for revenue Relief Raman Bhalla today gave one month deadline for submission of final recommendations for setting up of new administrative units in the state. Minister was addressing a review meeting of working committee, constituted earlier in this connection here at Srinagar. “The final report should come up by the end of June 2011 positively”, the Minister said, adding that the recommendation should be based on ground realities after due consultation with the concerned. Bhalla said that these new administrative units will help the government in resolving the problems faced by the people in these areas. Earlier, the working committee displayed the area wise maps of these new administrative units. Referring to the difficulties being faced by the residents of some parts of South Srinagar, Minister said that the government has issued orders to connect 19 villages of Niabat Khamoh (tehsil North Srinagar) with tehsil South Srinagar. He said this was the long pending demand of the people of these areas. Minister also discussed various issues relating to streamlining the revenue department and said that it has to play the vital role under single line administration to mitigate the problems of the people at grass-root level. Bhalla said that revenue department provides instant relief to people in distress and urged revenue officers to work with more dedication and honesty so that people get benefited by the policies of the government.
