Govt committed for equitable development of all three regions: Tara Chand

JAMMU, May 19:
Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today said the government is committed for equitable development of all three regions of the state and measures are afoot to fulfill the promises made to the people on development front.
He said this while addressing a series of deputations, who had called on him at Civil Secretariat, here today.
The Deputy Chief Minister had commenced the Summer Secretariat on
Monday and is available to the people for listening to their grievances and giving on spot instructions to the concerned for their speedy redressal.
Tara Chand said that the government is determined to empower the grass root level democratic institutions and ongoing Panchayati elections is a giant leap forward in that direction, adding that the focus is to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system and promote area specific development.
A deputation from Dogra Hall enlisted demands of their area which included extending various facilities under JNNURM to the people living in the area. The Deputy Chief Minister issued on the spot instruction to the concerned officers to look into the matter and submit a proposal for the same.
A deputation of J&K Pensioners Association brought to the notice of the Deputy Chief Minister various demands and difficulties being faced by them.
Tara Chand assured them that their grievance will be mitigated. He gave on spot instructions to the concerned departments to take immediate appropriate steps, so as to address the problems which have been brought up by various representatives of different areas of Jammu.
Later, a delegation of party leaders and workers comprising of Ex-Minister Gharu Ram, Vinod Sharma, BS Sambyal, Narinder Sharma, Chaman Lal Gupta and others, also called on the Deputy Chief Minister and discussed demands of their respective areas besides reviewing arrangements for the forthcoming visit of Chairperson, UPA Sonia Gandhi at Basholi.
