| DDC convenes BRGF meeting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KISHTWAR, May 19:
District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kishtwar, Mohd. Hussain Malik today convened a meeting of district officers to discuss issues regarding the formulation of Annual Plan for Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF) in District Kishtwar.

Support, Sanjeev Arora, Chief Planning Officer Kishtwar, Divisional
Forest officer Marwah, General Manager District Industries Centre
Kishtwar, Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar , Chief Horticulture Officer,
Kishtwar besides other officers were present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC impressed upon the officers to keep themselves abreast with the preparation of annual planning process for better development of the district in each sector. He said that the
BRGF is designed to redress regional imbalances in development. The fund will provide financial resources for supplementing and converging existing developmental inflows, so as to bridge critical gaps in local infrastructure and other development requirements that are not being adequately met through existing inflows. It will also strengthen Panchayat and Municipality level governance to facilitate participatory planning, decision making, implementation and monitoring besides providing professional support to local bodies for better planning.
The DDC said that technical support institute, TRIOS Development
Support will give training about planning process and steps for plan preparation to the Officers.
