EARLY TIMES REPORT SAMBA, May 19: Police today tracked down nine cattle smugglers in Nud and Navi Gali forests of Samba and recovered 54 milch animals which were being taken by them to Kashmir for slaughtering. Cops caught hold of them following inputs that smugglers had changed their route in view of police alertness on highway and the link roads, police sources said. The smugglers were apprehended while they were taking 54 cattle to Kashmir, the sources added. They were identified as Shabir, son of Mohammad Bashir of Raipur, Samba, Safeer Hussain, son of Muzaffar Hussain of Kupri, Samba, Sadeeq, son of Lal Din of Korju Nullah near Dhora, Samba, Manzoor, son of Lal Din of Bagoona, Vijaypur, Maqbool Hussain, son of Jiki of Govindgarh Ramgarh, Hussain, son of Baza of Thalodi, Vijaypur, Musa, son of Fazi of Makhanpur, Simbal Morh, Jammu, Jalal Din, son of Kamal Din of Thalodi, Vijaypur, and Suba, son of Mian of Rajinderpura, Vijaypur. All the 54 animals were later handed over by police to locals on suparadnama. A case under section 188 of RPC was registered against the accused at Samba police station..
