| Rape accused held in Bhaderwah | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 19: A youth, who had Monday last allegedly raped the sister
of his brother-in-law at Dharwari in Gandoh area of Bhaderwah, was
arrested by police today from his relative's house in the area.
Ghulam Qadir was alleged to have raped his brother-in-law's sister
Sakina Begum, wife of Mohammad Sultan, at Dharwari Monday last and
then gone underground.
The incident hurt Sakina so much that she swallowed poison at her
residence Tuesday morning to end her life, police sources said.
She was admitted to the Gandoh hospital where she told police that she
wanted to die because she felt ashamed and insulted after her rape
allegedly by Qadir, the sources added.The woman later died. Qadir was
today apprehended by police from his relative's house at Dharwari
where he was hiding.Police had registered a case against him.
