Prof Gupta ridicules at 'logic' of inviting all 11 MLAs 'now' | 4 with clean chit tag leave for Delhi to appear before Disciplinary panel | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu: The task of the BJP's Disciplinary Action Committee has become more difficult in taking further recourse of the proceedings it has initiated against susupended MLAs, notwithstanding the fact that four members given clean chit so far too have 'fallen in line' in so far as the fresh instructions are conerned. The four today left for New Delhi to appear before the panel which is holding its meeting tomorrow while as six in suspended camp have already declined the 'offer'. A day after this, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta too has 'declined' the offer in a tactical way contending he has so far been not 'provided the explanation' he sought from Disciplinary panel on the question of mearuing scales applied in declared him guilty of having voted against the party. Prof Chaman Lal Gupta whom the 7 members still consider as their leader in the House, in a letter written to chairman OP Kohli has ridiculed the move of inviting all the 11 members at this stage now when the party leadership has already 'declared' 7 members as guilty. The seasoned politician taking a dig at this move has however chosen to underplay the importance of the meeting, contending since he has already been declared as 'accused' he doesn't deem it proper to meet his old colleagues in this position. Instead, it was proper for the party to respond now legally in the matter as the matter lay sub judiced in different courts. Sources said the Disciplinary Action Committee led by OP Kohli which appears to be taking 'fair and fresh' view in the whole matter of cross voting may not have a smooth task ahead in determining and declaring with ease as to who actually fall in the guilty lot. The suspended MLAs have in their written replies as also publicly raised queries which do not augur well with the steps taken by the high command in isolating the 7 MLAs as guilty of having indulged in cross voting during LC polls last month. It is in the wake of brazen accusations and allegations made by the seven MLAs that panel has asked all the members to make their positions clear in the matter. Sources also indicate that the repeated assertions and reiteration oF their stand on parameters as also their willingness to conduct narco test has also made other four vulnerable and culpable to fall in what can be seen as 'danger zone' so far as the disciplinary proceedings are concerned. Sources said in the backdrop of loud assertions of the supended MLAs on confident note and keeping in view they have openly raised revolt and in a way challenged the High Command, there is possibility of some move against all the 11 MLAs on anvil. What shape the proceedinsg take will be unfolded in due course but as of now things appear to be getting more complicated and difficult for the party, sources added. The six suspended MLAs by refusing to attend the meeting at Delhi tomorrow have conveyed more than this message on the scene : they are not bothered about the proceedings nor care about its outcome. This is so because the 7 MLAs at this point of time stand united and integrated on every move ever since the issue has erupted. Second, that whatever move they are taking is a move after thorough legal advise and some understanding with certain political quarters presumably 'guiding' them well on the developments in so far as theri standing in the whole matter is concerned. From all fronts it appears that the Legislative Party is actually now heading for a split, a move for which the suspended MLAs are more than willing.
