| 500 Ex-Servicemen participate in Keri rally | | | Early Times Report
Keri, May 20 :- Atleast 500 Ex-servicemen of district Rajouri participated in rally organized by Keri battalion under the aegis of BG Brigade to address the problems of them. It was aimed at reaching out to the vast ex-serviceman population of Keri and adjoining areas. It was inaugurated by Commander, BG Brigade.
During the day long rally emphasis was laid on interaction of ESM with the officials of civil administration to understand and resolve the problems being faced by the Ex-Serviceman in dealing with the civil administration.
Many utility stalls both military and civil had been put to give info about Bank loans, fixed deposit schemes, employment opportunities, welfare measures, subsidies in various government departments etc. A medical camp was also organised at the site with a number of Medical Officers including an ophthalmologist, dentist and a gynecologist. Appx 300 Ex-Serviceman were benefitted from the medical camp.
Veer Naries of the area were honoured by the Commander during the rally. The efforts put in by the Keri battalion under the BG Brigade were appreciated by everyone and this noble attempt brought to fore grievances of the ex-serviceman. All necessary documents of the ex-servicemen were compiled and have been forwarded to civil authorities for necessary action. Commander impressed upon the civil administration to look into the problems of ex-serviceman in a more humane manner and to solve their grievances on priority.
