''Ready for arrest if stopped from Amarnath yatra on June 15''
5/20/2011 11:12:30 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 20 Baba Amarnath Niyas, a conglomeration of several social, trade and religious organisations, today said its workers were ready for arrest if the government does not allow them to start the annual yatra on June 15. "We will start the yatra at all costs from June 15. If the government and police did not allow us to move towards the cave shrine of Amarnath, we are ready to get arrested and are adamant on our decision", President of Baba Amarnath Niyas, Surinder Mohan, Aggarwal told reporters here.
conference that it has started registering the pilgrims from 1st May and also making online registration through its official website www.amarnathyatriniyas.org for the annual pilgrimage of Amamath Ji for the year 2011 from May 8.
Aggarwal refuted SASB as the ground reality is totally different from the tall claims made by SASB which is making the arrangements for the devotees of Amamath Yatra.
He said, “It seems that SASB had never ever intended to start the Amamath Yatra from 15th June despite of repeated requests of Baba Yatri Niyas and various other organizations to reconsider the commencement date of Amamath Yatra as it is evident from the report of the four members delegation of Baba Yatri Niyas who had returned after visiting Baltal, one of the Base camps of Amamath Yatra”.
To a question about legality of registration to be carried out by the Niyas, Aggarwal said that government has not objected to the registration at all. He said that a team of the Niyas had recently visited the Kashmir Valley to oversee the weather conditions and the routes to the Amarnath. "The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board has not taking measures to clear the twin routes. If the Board uses men and machines to clear the snow, the routes to the cave shrine would be re- opened in the first week of June itself," he claimed.
