Mafia eying Prime land of K P shrine in Valley for sale. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 20 : Failure of State government to protect The Hindu Shrines and religious places in Valley by delaying the Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and religious places Bill various agencies and land grabbers in connivance of the self styled displaced Pandit leaders are on the job of selling the prime land of some KP shrines in Kashmir at throwaway prices. According to the sources, the land mafia in Kashmir is busy in visiting the Revenue offices in Kashmir to seek the papers of Hindu shrines for framing the sale deeds of the land. Already such a type of illegal sale deed for hundreds kanals of prime land of Jawaliji shrine at Khrew, pampore was stopped by the intervention of local Kashmiri Pandits. Sources said Khrew is not an exceptional case where the land mafia is eying on selling the land of Hindu Shrine for commercial purpose. But some vested interests in connivance of some self styled leaders of displaced Pandits have also started the process of selling the prime land belonging to a Hindu temple near Hari Parbhat in down town Srinagar. The land mafia has approached the Revenue authorities for papers and the sale deed is round the corner. Besides a self styled group of KPs from Jammu which has almost sold hundreds kanals of land belonging to Sofi Sant Jeevan Sahib at Ladhoo Pampore. Now this gang is hell bent to sell the remaining 17 Kanals of land housing the shrine. Sources said that these 17 kanals of land were only intact. Sources said this land was saved from clutches of land grabbers. Sources said that land mafia at various places have managed to mutilate the land records in connivance with revenue officials. Sources said at various place in valley the Hindu cremation grounds and temple land has already been grabbed by land mafia with State Government looking as a mute spectator. The displaced KPs who have made their concern over the encroachment of temple and Hindu Shrines land are up in arms against State Government for its failure to enact the law for protection of these Shrines. There is also a brewing resentment among the Community against its own members involved in making illegal sale of land belonging to KP Shrines and religious places in valley and community has decided to identify and isolate them.
