Dilemma persists on 'legal options', BJP's Disciplinary panel 'shelves' decision again | We need one more sitting to complete process: Kohli | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 20: The Disciplinary Action Committee of BJP has once again put on hold its final decision to be taken against the 7 suspended MLAs who are facing proceedings in the cross voting issue. The report is said to be ready and will be submitted to national president Nitin Gadkari after the panel holds one more meeting. The panel held its meeting today in which matters related to cross voting were deliberated upon in a fresh manner after recording the versions of the four MLAs who have been given clean chit by the party. The next date of the meeting has again not been specified by the Commitee. "The Disciplinary commitee is continuing with its process and examining the matter while considering all key aspects........but the process is not yet complete", said OP Kohli, chairman of the panel while speaking to ET. The matter was discussed in a threadbare manner today but in my opinion we need at least one more sitting to give final touch to the report, Kohli added. He further said the Disciplinary committee is taking a comprehensive view of the entire matter including the legal aspects. However, refuse to divulge what legal recourse and options the party is considering in the backdrop of the legals steps initiated by the susupended MLAs. Sources said even as the charge of Chairperson of the panel till today was given to OP Kohli who also headed the three member national team to look into the matter soon after the episode of the cross voting during LC polls last month, but the meeting held at New Delhi today was chaired by the Kesri Nath Tripathi, veteran leader of the party. Sources said even though meaningful deliberations continued till 4 pm but the panel did not finalise its report on a concluding note though everything stands now registered and recorded, Sources also the presence of the the four MLAs with clean chit tag who appeared before the panel to present their position in the matter proved to be fruitful for both sides as on one hand the MLAs could elaborate on things in front of the Disciplinary panel which they had presented at Jammu in front of the three member team and on the other hand the panel also got clear insight into the substantive material related to cross voting which they already are in possession of from various sources. Sources said ven though proceedings from the panel stand complete, they are only wating and stuck for certain leagl and techncial hitches on account of which both party leadership as well as the some panel members are in a state of dilemma which is why they have decided to put the matter on hold for some more time. It is pertinent to mentione here that Bharat Bhushan Bodhi one of the suspended MLAs has filed a case in the court which has sough the objections from the party by May 23. Sources also said the party leadership is waiting for the outcome of further proceedings in the case. Even though it had sought the documents related to the case from the MLAs but have not been able to get any communication so far. The panel is taking its time because of dilemma on certain fronts, said the sources adding that the matter may take more time to get settled finally. The four MLAs Ashok Khajuria, Jugal Kishore, Choudhray Sukhnandan and Sham Choudlhary who left last evening on the 'call' of the Disciplinary panel for Delhi today appeared before the panel . Sources said the material and versions given by these four MLAs were registered well during of the course of the threadbare discussions today but at the same time took note of the fact that 7 MLAs against whom the proceedings are going on failed to turn up despite the panel having given an opportunity present their view point afresh and clairy their positions in the matter .
