| JWAM stages protest against scarcirty of water and long power cuts | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu May 21: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) activists staged a protest against the PDD & PHE Ministry and concerned departments for the frequent curtailment of the electricity and acute shortage of the drinking water in the various localities of Jammu west assembly constituency.
Amidst the slogans the agitating people who came to the roads with empty utensils also broke the pitchers on the roads, disrupted vehicular traffic for some time and also burnt the effigies in protest of the failure of the PDD& PHE departments.
Sunil Dimple president Jammu West Assembly Movement addressing the protestors alleged that the PDD & PHE ministers are enjoying in the cool valley while due to weak infrastructure of power supply system people in Jammu are suffering in hot days “facing acute sacristy of drinking water" and acute shortage of power despite 100% metring in all localities.
Dimple also demanded to the chief minister Omar Abdulla and PHE minister Taj Mohi deen for their intervention in the matter, to start and supply of water from river Chenb of Akhnoor and strengthening the electrification system in the winter capital Jammu and in the west constituency.
