Politics art of possibilities; anything possible anytime: Karra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, May 21 (KNS): Terming politics as art of possibilities, senior Peoples Democratic Party leader and former Finance Minister, Tariq Hameed Karra, Saturday dismissed media reports about his joining National Conference. In an interview with KNS Karra said, “Politics is art of possibilities and anything is possible anytime. But I didn’t meet Chief Minister (Omar Abdullah) as was reported by a newspaper.” Asked did any party approach him to join, he said, “I’m a politician anybody can talk to me and I can talk to any one. My doors are open for all.” However he said whenever he will take a decision to join any party, he will take his people on board. “My priority would be to safeguard interests of Kashmiris. I believe in honest politics on Kashmir issue and will strive for that. I’m always ready to work as a facilitator for resolution of Kashmir issue,” he added. On his distance from PDP, Karra said, “I’ve not maintained distance from PDP, but it is they who have maintained distance for the reasons best known to them.” Asked about the reasons of his defeat in last Assembly election in Batamaloo constituency, he said, “I was victimsed for supporting Kashmiryat. A conspiracy at political, government, non government and regional levels had been hatched to damage Kashmiriyat. I resisted against this conspiracy and that was why I was made the target.” However, he was quick to add that he has no regrets about that. “I was fighting for a noble cause that is to save Kashmiryat,” “May be expectations of voters were much higher than my performance. I’ve no complains against the voters of my constituency,” Karra added. He said that any specific agendas shouldn’t be made point of prestige by political parties. “A common formula having positive contours from all the suggestive formulas has to be found which should be acceptable to Kashmiris, India and Pakistan,” he suggested.
