PSC interviews for Jammu candidates should be held at Jammu: BJP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 21: The Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (PSC) interviews for appointments in different departments should be held in Jammu for the candidates hailing from Jammu province. This was stated by BJP c spokesperson & national executive member Jitendra Singh and state general secretary Sat Sharma while responding to the demand of a deputation of aspirant candidates from Jammu for PSC interview to the post of Assistant Directors, Statistic-cum-Evaluation who called on these leaders at party hqrs Saturday. The BJP leaders, after giving a patient hearing to the deputation, said that their demand is quite genuine and the party fully supports. They said that the PSC has its full fledged offices in Jammu and Srinagar and therefore there is no problem in holding the interviews in both the centers for respective candidates. Jitendra Singh and Sat Sharma said that a candidate appearing for interview from Jammu has to travel a long distance of over 300 kms to reach Srinagar besides spending huge sum of money on staying there. For female candidates it becomes all the more difficult to travel alone and stay there. They said that the PSC should not have any problem in conducting the interviews at Jammu for candidates of Jammu province. They further added that there is an increase in the number of candidates appearing in PSC interviews from Jammu province and therefore it is the responsibility of the government not to discourage them by holding interviews at a distance place. On the other hand, they appealed the PSC to ensure that the selection is fair and purely based on merit.
