Nehru Memorial School celebrated Annual Day

Udhampur , May 21:- Nehru Memorial Higher Secondary School celebrated its annual day with great enthusiasm here today . Local MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia was the chief guest while DIG Udhampur -Reasi range Jagjeet kumar, was guest of honour.
Guiding force of institution S.P Kalra and chairman of institution Upkar Kalra was also present on the occasion.

The programme commenced with the lightening of lamp by the chief guest and singing of Sarswati Vandana . This was followed by a variety of item cultural items including folk dances, fancy dress, skits, patriotic songs.
Principal welcomed all the guests and presented the annual report. The prizes were also handed over to the meritorious students for their excellence in various curricular and co-curricular activities.
The function concluded with vote of thanks from Bavana Kalra head of management committee. Chairman of school briefed about the school’s achievements through the year. He emphasized that students must explore and utilize their latent talents
A breath-taking presentation was beautifully synchronised by the students which took audience on a nostalgic journey. India’s true colours appeared on the stage in most vibrant forms when students presented folk dances of various states. Students received huge applause from the audience for scintillating performances in various cultural items on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion chief guest said that co-curricular activities provide an ideal opportunity to the students to know cultural heritage of the region as well as nation. He said that a person without education is like an animal. Education is like a foundation. So let all of us try to bring knowledge, gain success in life and teach our students to face problems. He also stressed on the point that students should not get disappointed by failures and considers it as the stepping stones to success.
