| SIT presents supplementary challan in "supari" killing case | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 21: The special investigation team (SIT) of police today presented challan in the "supari" killing case against Sunny Baba alias Sunny Choudhary, jail superintendent Saleem Beigh, his PSO Surinder Kumar, Nagar Singh and Gurdeep Singh.
All the accused except Gurdeep were in judicial custody. SIT prayed for initiation of proceedings under section 512 of CrPC against Gurdeep who was declared an absconder.
Sunny, who was arrested by police at Jhajjar Kotli, allegedly told his interrogators that when he was lodged in Kot-Bhalwal jail, jail employee Surinder Kumar had introduced him to Nagar, who too was in the jail at that time. Beigh was the jail superintendent.
Nagar was alleged to have given Sunny a supari of Rs 50 lakh to kill politician-cum-academician Sudershan Singh Wazir. While Wazir supported the witnesses in Amandeep murder case, Nagar
was one of the accused in the case. The latter's son Royal Singh was alleged to be the main accused.Of Rs 50 lakh, an advance of Rs 15 lakh was alleged to have been delivered to Sunny in the presence of Beigh.After completion of investigation, SIT presented supplementary
challan in the court of CJM, Jammu, today.
