| JD institute holds Fashion Fiesta 2011 | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 21: Fashion fiesta 2011, an annual exhibition cum sale by JD Fashion Institute was today inaugurated by chief guest Minister Raman Bhalla by lighting the ceremonial lamp
The exhibition is a full two days fun filled extravaganza and will conclude on Sunday evening. The objects created by the students of all the courses are exhibited and put up on sale.
On display by Fashions Department were designer dresses, kurtis, skirts, suits, trousers , T-shirts painted and designed by and the interior department displayed items like designer clay pots , photo frames, home furnishing items, lamps etc.
The exhibition was a result of one full year’s efforts of the students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology.
The response to the first day itself was huge and most of the items were displaying sold tags by the evening. Also a lot of orders were booked by the students for designing T-shirts and kurties by some good fashion boutiques of Jammu.
Another highlight of the exhibition was the unveiling of the garments for the annual design awards 2011 fashion show to be held at Delhi next month. These were exclusive designer garments of the final year students which would be competing at the national level fashion show.
Raman Bhalla took a round of the exhibition and was highly appreciative of the students efforts and said that the students had put in a lot of hard work to come up with such wonderful creations.
Speaking on the occasion Maansi Gupta, centre director of JD Institute Jammu centre, said JD’s high academic standards have always made it easier for the graduates to get high profile and relevant jobs in a very competitive market. The industry has come to look upon JD as a provider of fresh & genuine talent year after year in not just fashion industry but interior design, jewellery design.
R.C. Dalal, executive director, JD Coroparate Delhi had also sent his congratulatory wishes for all the students of JD Jammu and said since 23 yrs, JD institute of Fashion Technology is one of the India’s pioneer institutes in offering world class fashion education.
JD institute has kept perfect step with kaleidoscopic changes in the fashion and delivered spectacular talent to the appreciative world of glamour.
