PYC organises blood donation camps

JAMMU, May 21:
Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) organized blood donation camps in the memory of Rajiv Gandhi on his 20th death anniversary in Jammu and Srinagar.
In a mega donation camps, scores of youth congress activists participated in the blood donation camp. While the camp for donation was on, the youth congress activists said “A little progress every day adds up to big results.” We have started our mission for peace, prosperity & development of our state & we shall stand by our efforts until the last drop of blood in our body.
While raising slogans of “Youth Congress Zindabad” the activists were very enthusiastic about donating the blood for the needy. Young women and boys were very anxiously waiting for their turn to donate the blood.
For the first in the Youth Congress Young Girls were among the fleet of youth Congress Activists, however scores of youth were very perturb on being denied by medical fertenety to donate blood on medical grounds. Scores of youth congress activists could not make it to the occasion due to the Strike and curfew like situation in different areas.
All walks of youth were present for donating the blood. Prominent Youth Congress activists among those who were present, donated the blood and organized the occasions were State President Shoaib Nabi Lone, Dr. Mir Audil Farooq, Abid Kashmiri, Irfan Naqib, Dr. Harbaksh Shanti, Irshad,Khursheed Mir, Altaf.
Later on the Youth Congress Activists under the chairmanship of State
President Shoaib Nabi Lone held a meeting wherein a two minute silence was observed for peace.
Meanwhile, Youth Congress activists at Kishtwar also paid rich tributes to Rajiv Gandhi on his 20th death anniversary. The youth congress activist headed by Sheikh Nasir Hussain Advocate assembled at District Hospital Kishtwar for organizing a blood donation camp but the authorities of District Hospital told them that there is no facility for blood storage at the Hospital and blood donation is possible at the time of need. Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar informed that in absence of required material and power failure there is no provision of blood storage in the Blood bank of the hospital.
After leaving from the Hospital the YC activist organized a meeting. In the meeting light was thrown on the life and policies of Rajiv Gandhi by the speakers. While speaking in the meeting YC leader Sheikh Nasir Hussain threw light on the life and policies of Late Rajiv Gandhi he termed him as the architect of ‘modern India’ he said that
While expressing displeasure over non functioning of blood bank at District Hospital Kishtwar Sheikh Nasir said “We are disappointed as we couldn’t participate in today’s country-wide programme of Youth Congress”. He said that it is unfortunate that the only hospital catering three lakh people is lacking facility of blood storage.
