Dr Shekhar interacts with IAS,KAS aspirants

JAMMU, May 22: A senior faculty from Delhi’s `Ayush IAS’- a leading institute for IAS, Dr Raj Shekhar today interacted with the KAS and IAS aspirants of the state in a special coaching session arranged by the SR College of Competitions, here.
On a brief three day visit to the state, Dr Shekhar guided students about the developments in the field of Science and Technology, Information Technology and Space. In addition, he dealt with the basic ideas about computers, robotics, nano technology, bio technology and related issued regarding intellectual property rights.
Attended by over 100, the students were made aware of the approach with regard to preparation for prelims and mains examinations.
“Questions on general science will cover general appreciation and understanding of science as may be expected of a well educated person, who has not made a special study of any particular scientific discipline,” informed Dr Raj Shekhar.
He further said that new areas emerging in the field of nuclear energy, especially nuclear safety, nuclear melt down, effects of radiations on human beings and other related issues also deserve special focus.
In this marathon session of six-hour, students also took part in discussion, especially regarding changing nature of the questions being asked in the Civil Services.
Students, especially those from non-science background, were made to realise that one does not need to have science background to deal with Science and Technology component of the General Studies paper.
