Bhalla lays foundation of Rs.4.5 cr Green Belt Park | Inaugurates mini buses parking slot at Channi Himmat | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 22: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla on Sunday laid foundation stone of Green Belt Park in Sector-7 in Channi Himmat, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.50 crore.
Managing Director, Housing Board, Dalip Thusu, Deputy Secretary, Housing Board, Ram Paul besides senior officers of Revenue, PHE, Floriculture, R&B and Housing Board accompanied the Minister.
Interacting with the locals, Bhalla informed that the recreational park would be developed on 60 kanal available land along the right side of Narwal Bye-pass road on modern lines having facilities of illumination, seating, tube well, fast food shops, children corners etc.
He said the recreational park would be dedicated to the people of city of temples by September this year adding that after dedication, the park could be maintain by outsourced income.
The Minister cautioned the illegal occupants to surrender the State land voluntarily, otherwise ready to face action under Revenue Act adding that Government is planning to use the land available at various places for construction of public property like schools, tube wells, over head tanks, roads, bridges, offices, hospitals and multipurpose community halls etc.
Bhalla informed that a detailed project report costing Rs. 300 crore has been submitted to Central Government for approval of submitted projects like Rs. 150 crore flyover project from Bikram Chowk to Satwari besides construction of tube wells, culverts and upgradation of nallahs in Gandhi Nagar constituency.
At Lower Gaddigarh, the Minister laid foundation stone for construction of 220 meter long protection walls on both sides of nallah near to Kanshipuri ashram, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 14 lakh. He asked the executing agency to complete the project well before the inset of rainy season.
Responding to the people’s demand, Bhalla asked the R&B engineers to prepare a detailed project report for construction of deep drain, internal lanes and drains and submit the same for funding so that the projects could be started.
To ease rush in Gandhi Nagar hospital, the Minister said Government has earmarked Rs. 3.17 crore for construction of double-storey Primary Health Centre at Lower Gaddigarh adding that the hospital would be completed in 20-month in 9931.54 sft area with all latest technique facilities like CT scan, blood bank, toilet blocks, canteen, ultra sound, X-ray, waiting hall, doctors cabins, garage and mortuary etc adding on the completion, the ailing people of Lower Gaddigarh, Chatha Farm, Chatha Mill, Bhour Camp, Karan Bagh, Suchetgarh, R. S. Pura and Miran Sahib would be treated at their doorstep hospital.
