Sham takes stock of developmental activities in Billawar, Basohli | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT BASOHLI, May 22: Minister for Health and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma today conducted hectic tour of Billawar and Basohli tehsils and took stock of developmental works.
Accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir State Congress President Prof Saif- u-din Soz, former Deputy Chief Minister Pt Mangat Ram Sharma, MLA Indu Pawar, State president, Congress Mahila wing and others visited New Age Degree College, Phinter, Billawar.
The Minister met with deputations of the area and listened to their problems.
The locals demanded construction of a park near the Maha Kali Temple at Billawar.
At the New Age Degree College, Billawar the minister was briefed by Pankaj Dogra regarding the problems of the area.
Later, the minister accompanied by the dignitaries visited Basohli and went to the site where foundation stone of prestigious Ravi Bridge will be laid tomorrow by Sonia Gandhi Chairperson United Progressive Alliance (UPA).
Sham lal Sharma and Prof. Soz interacted with the BRO authorities. Later they met with the local leaders.
The local leaders demanded licences for ferry boat services in the Ranjit Sagar Dam. The District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Ms. Zahida Parveen Khan, who was also present on the occasion, assured the people that licenses would be provided under Ferry Act.
Earlier, the Minister also inspected the Sub District Hospital building Basohli which is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 9.80 crore.
