| JKNPP leader held for alleged rape | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 22: A Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) leader was today arrested by police at Assote in Mahore, Reasi, in an alleged rape case. Police sources said Pushpinder Singh, who had unsuccessfully contested last assembly elections on JKNPP ticket from the area, allegedly raped a woman at Assote while she was on her way home.
After the woman brought the matter to the notice of her husband, the latter lodged a report with police against the Pushpinder.
The woman was got medically examined by police at government hospital. Police had registered a case under section 376 of RPC against the accused who was absconding. |
