Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 22: The five member BJP Parliamentarian study group is visiting Ladakh region on a two days tour tomorrow to meet the cross section of people there and ascertain their opinion on prevailing situation in the state of J&K and its possible solution.
The four member team headed by former president of the Party Raj Nath Singh will meet the people from different shades of opinion from the Ladakh region to elicit their opinion on Kashmir issue and seeks suggestions for the possible solutions under the frame work of Indian Constitution.
According to party sources the team will also meet the leaders of Ladakh Buddhist Association, (LBA) Ladakh union Territory Front (LUTF), leaders of Shia Federation, political parties and social organizations.
The four member BJP Parliamentary study group will submit a parallel report on J&K situation to the Party national president, Nitin Gadkari to present the same in Parliament and counter the report of Central interlocutors led by veteran journalist Dilip Padgoankar.
The BJP has opposed any move of the UPA as well as coalition Government of the state aimed at granting any more concessions to the state that will take J&K away from Constitutional frame work of India. The Party at national as well as state level has outrightly rejected the greater autonomy and self rule as advocated by National Conference and PDP respectively.
The BJP according to Party sources will strongly react to the move regarding the grant of autonomy and self rule or any concession given to the state on the dictates of separatists. The Party has made it clear to the UPA Government at Centre that BJP has given many sacrifices for the integration of J&K with Union of India and it will strongly resist any move which will be inimical to unity and integrity of the country.
The BJP Parliamentary team visited Jammu on April 11 and 12 and later it visited Kashmir Valley on April 13 and 14. They met a cross section of the people in the two regions to seek their views on the J&K situation and a possible solution.
However at that time the team did not visit Ladakh due to paucity of time. The J&K co-ordinator of the team Chander Mohan Sharma and party state general secretary Satish Sharma have already reached Leh to receive the Party delegation there tomorrow, the sources said.
The sources said that the two leaders have already met the representatives of the various organizations in Leh. The five member team after meeting the people in Leh will visit Kargil day after tomorrow.
Besides RaJ Nath Singh the Parliamentary study group members included Party national spokesman Ravi Shanker Prasad, Party general secretary Shah Nawaz Hussain, MPs JK Jain and Maya Singh.
The National Coordinator of the study group J.P. Nadda is also accompanying the study group.
